Beyond "Boys Side" and "Girls Side" - Gender Inclusion in Jewish Camping

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

How do you create an inclusive camp community for people of all genders? Jewish camps that were founded on the assumption of a gender binary - for example having a "boys side" and "girls side" of camp - now encounter a wider array of gender identities amongst campers and staff, from transgender to gender fluid, gender non-conforming, and more. This reality challenges us as leaders to find ways to build an inclusive and safe community for all. Is your camp ready to welcome campers and staff of all genders, and how will you support their experience? Let's explore some of the challenges and opportunities together.
