Ayal Prouser is currently completing his Master’s degree in Film and Media Studies at Columbia University, where he has focused on the new field of Circus Studies. Ayal has loved the circus for as long as he can remember and has been a practitioner for over a decade. He has performed and coached on the professional level spanning three continents, including coaching at Kirkas Galil in Israel and co-founding the Kasikonde youth circus in Kampala, Uganda. His circus specialties are in juggling, double trapeze, and flying trapeze. Ayal’s Jewish education includes Solomon Schechter High School, Nativ College Leadership Program, Hebrew University, and Bible study with Professor Everett Fox at Clark University. He finds joy in letting his theorization of circus direct his practice, and his knowledge of circus practice corroborate his theories of circus.
