Brett Gurwitz

Brett Gurwitz is a trainer, coach and consultant, with over twenty years of youth development experience. Brett currently works with Ramapo for Children as the Associate Director of Youth and Community Development, where he helps educators and youth professionals gain practical tools to become stronger leaders, build restorative communities, and promote success for their young people. He also works as a Team Leader with True to Life Training, providing interactive and experiential workshop experiences that help camp staff build communication and conflict resolution skills. This is Brett's sixth year working as a Faculty Advisor with FJC's Cornerstone program, helping camps build and implement thoughtful action plans. Prior to his work as a trainer, Brett served as a Program Manager at Harlem RBI, a unique program that uses the power of teams to teach and inspire youth to reach their potential. He also served as the Senior Program Director at Roads to Success, where he oversaw all after-school programming serving over 800 children, and spent two summers as a Camp Director for a large Brooklyn based day camp, serving students living in temporary housing with Oasis Children's Services. Brett holds a Bachelors Degree from the University at Buffalo, and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. He proudly attended Eisner Camp as a camper and staff member for over 10 years.
