Lou Bergholz is the Managing Partner and Founder of Edgework Consulting. For over 20 years, Lou has consulted to youth development organizations around the world. He’s designed and launched camp and camp-style programs in the US, Israel, Gaza, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Thailand. For over a decade, Lou has been working to create trauma-informed interventions that apply academic research and clinical practice to populations without reliable access to definitive clinical care. He has helped Paul Newman’s organization, the SeriousFun Network to develop camp programs for children infected and affected by HIV. He developed a large mental health promotion and violence prevention program for children in the Gaza Strip, and has been involved since 2013 in working closely with the Parks and Recreation Department in Newtown, CT, to develop a trauma-informed methodology for their day camp programming.
