Shira Ravin serves as the Hebrew Director for Kayitz Kef / Hebrew At Camp, where she oversees professional development and training and works with camps to develop their individual curricula. Shira is an educator who has dedicated herself to improving the field of teaching Hebrew as a second language through various organizations. She was part of the management team of the first Hebrew immersion public Charter school in Washington, DC, and she had the privilege to be part of a pioneering MA program at Middlebury College, VT in the teaching of Hebrew as a foreign language, where she now serves as a mentor to future professionals in the field. Shira volunteers as council member at NAHET (National Association of Hebrew Teachers) and as co-chair for IAC-DC to help Israeli immigrant preserve their heritage language.
